Do You Want To Become A Registered Nurse A person that wants to become a registered nurse has a multitude of options for gaining the education necessary for licensure. Minimally, to become a registered nurse, you will need an Associate of Science in Nursing (or ASN) degree, usually obtained by completing a two-year nursing program at an accredited college.
